Some questions and answers about the G-Clip.
Q. Why use the G-Clip?
Fitting under-mounted sinks professionally eliminates the sink falling out which, until the invention of the G-Clip, was a common problem.
Q. Do you need any specialist tooling to install the G-Clip?
No. This is the beauty of G-Clip. Preparation and installation of the G-Clip is done with industry-standard tooling
(see tools required under installation of G-Clip).
Q. How long does it take to install the sink using the G-Clip?
It should take no more than 15 minutes.
Q. Do we still have to use silicone?
Yes, but purely for sealing against water. Before the invention of G-Clip most installations relied on silicone as the main fixing of under-mounted sinks.
Q. Do we need a joiner to build a sub-frame to support the sink?
Not any more. The G-Clip eliminates the need for sub-framing.
Q. I am fitting a waste disposal unit to my sink. Can I still use the G-Clip fastening system?
Yes. Normally you would need a joiner to build a permanent sub structure to hold it as they are quite heavy and there can be slight vibration when working. With the G-Clip even when working there are no problems and you have no need for any frame work leaving plenty of room in your sink cabinet.
Q. What pressure/weight will the G-Clip withstand?
We have tested a sink with the G-Clip correctly installed up to 100kg.
Q. Do you need to apply any special adhesives to hold the G-Clip in place?
No. The G-Clip is designed in such a way that once fitted correctly it is permanent.
Q. What happens if my sink is damaged in any way?
This is one of the main features of the G-Clip system. All you need to do is remove the G-Clip (see removal under installation). Simply cut through the silicone sealant and the sink will fall free. This would normally be a major problem and could be rather expensive.
Q. How long do I have to wait before I can have my sink plumbed in?
Once your sink has been installed using the G-Clip, you can connect straight away, no need to wait for unsatisfactory glues or adhesives to cure.
Q. How many G-Clips do i need to install my sink correctly?
Large double bowl = 12
Large single bowl = 8
Small single bowl = 4
One and a half combination bowl = 10
Square bowl = 8
Round bowl = 6
